♦First, gather them into a pile. Then spend some time
reviewing your titles. If you have any store bought movies that you don't plan
to watch again because they were lousy or your family outgrew them (e.g.
children's movies), pile them into a cardboard box. Then sell them in your next
yard sale or donate them to a local nonprofit resale store. Someone else might
just love them.
♦Sort the
flicks you're keeping, including the ones you recorded onto blank media, by
format (video tape or DVD) and then either alphabetically by movie title or by
movie type (e.g. drama, comedy, etc.).
♦Use an
inexpensive label-maker to neatly label any you recorded. Just put the label on
the outside front of the DVD storage case.
♦Use
DVD storage furniture
to store your collection. Find a piece of DVD storage furniture that has
shelving that holds a lot in the least amount of space. My favorite DVD storage
furniture is the four-sided spinning media storage tower, also sometimes called
swivel media tower or revolving media tower. These towers actually come in several sizes, including some that are two-sided.

♦Got CDs too? If it's elegance or contemporary style that
you're looking for, consider the Faux Leather CD & Storage Cabinet
(pictured below from Stacks and Stacks ).
It can hold a lot of CDs, DVDs and/or VHS tapes. Each family member can be
assigned their own drawer to keep things even more organized.
