Sometimes lids to pots and pans get in the way when you're trying to create
organized pot and pan storage. You have pot lids with fat top handles, metal lids,
glass lids and more. One thrifty option that some people use to organize pot
lids is use a dishpan as a lid organizer. Just put it in your kitchen closet
in a shelf and put each lid in a slot. Put the lids in the dishpan slots like you would stand them if you were
really drying them in the rack. These dish pan racks come in metal and plastic
in small and large sizes. This is an okay option but you still have to deal with
the tumbling effect sometimes---that's when one lid hits the next which hits the
next...because they don't have any vertical support dividers to keep the lids
each balanced and separate.
But pot lid racks do have dividers. You can buy customized lid storage racks,
also called lid organizers. A number of
stores have finally realized there is a need for this. Not everyone stores lids
on the actual pots and pans for various reasons; it's not convenient or a
lid may fit several pots and so you want it handy to reach.
The
Deluxe Chrome Lid Organizer
from Organize Everything fits on a cabinet shelf or perhaps in an
unused spot on your kitchen counter near the stove.
The
Lid Maid Lid Organizer
,
also from Organize Everything, can hold six pot lids (or three dozen plastic
lids) and slides. So if you put it on the bottom shelf of the lowest closet,
it's still convenient. Just slide it forward.
Or if you have a slim space on the inside of a kitchen cabinet door, even the
pantry door, you can use this
Vertical Lid Rack Hampton Collection
from Organize-Everything which is
door or wall-mountable.
A lid organizer is a good and inexpensive helper for the kitchen if you're
trying to get organized there.
