Linen Closet Storage and
Organization

The true secret to linen closet storage is owning less linens
(and thus washing and using the ones you do own more frequently). But less
linens can be still more than enough. Here are linen closet storage ideas to
organize your linens and linen closet:
First, weed out all the sheets, blankets, comforters and bed spreads
that are part of incomplete sets or that you don't want or use anymore. Donate
blankets that are still in good shape to homeless shelters. Old pilled sheets and comforters make washable
pet beds. If you don't have a pet, offer them to someone who does own a pet. Weed out
excess linens. In reality two sets of sheets with pillowcases per bed is
sufficient (Rotate one while washing the other.).
Put extra pillowcases on guest pillows in storage (on a top
closet shelf, in a rarely used stored suitcase or in a wicker hamper in a closet).
Need more closet storage? Try storing linens in a decorative
storage chest incorporated into your home decor. You'll find several
storage chests here. With an item as beautiful as a decorative storage
chest or trunk, your storage space can be in the middle of the
living room floor (or any room) and still blend in with your decorating scheme.

that doesn't take up too much space but could hold a lot of sheet sets. If your
bedroom contains white furnishings (or your kids' room), you could keep it at
the foot of the bed or elsewhere. After all, it is a very sturdy bench too. Use
it to sit on while you put on your shoes.

You can use remaining extra pillowcases to cover and protect bulky
holiday ornaments in the garage. Also, try putting your fitted sheet, top sheet and
one pillow case folded or rolled neatly together in the remaining pillow case.
That way sets stay together and are convenient to grab from your linen closet
(or wherever you choose to store them).
