Clip and Organize Coupons

Coupons save you money when they're for products that you
really use on a regular basis. Don't save coupons for items that look good or
scrumptious just because they do. Use coupons for your regular purchases, or
occasionally to try something new.
Organize your coupons into a
recipe box. Cut colored stock card
paper into 3 X 5 card size dividers (or whatever the size of your recipe box).
At the very top of each divider, write a category such as "cereal",
"microwaveable foods", or even "use by X date" so you'll know which coupons are
expiring. Check the box when you're making your grocery or toiletry item
shopping lists.
Carry coupons to the store in a business size envelope. Write
the coupon items, brands and sizes needed on the outside of the envelope. Check
off each coupon item you purchase. Then when you finish shopping, and before you
get to the check out, pull out those coupons for items with check marks beside
them on the envelope. Keep the others in the envelope to return home or trash if
the store doesn't carry the item.
