Pasta Storage Solutions

Storing some unopened boxes of pasta in stacks on top of each
other may not take too much space in your kitchen cabinets. Trouble starts when
you have lots of open boxes of pasta (because you didn't need the whole box
for that dinner) or lots of pastas in different size cartons that don't stack
well. And it's inconvenient when you want something on the bottom of the stack.
One solutions is to NOT store your pasta in the boxes they come in. Dump
them into food canisters. I use slim plastic translucent plastic containers made for
food storage that also are stackable. But you can use canisters too.
Stacks and Stacks sells these
Set of 3 Window Canisters
in 2-4 quart sizes. Try emptying those four packs of
the same type of elbow macaroni into a canister. Then store them on a narrow
shelf in the kitchen (or in the kitchen food closet). You'll be able to see at a
glance what's in each container and when it's low. Other stores also sell
airtight window canisters but these stainless steel ones to the left are just
one style that would work well for pasta but also other dry food goods like rice
or flour.
