Store Sewing Fabric

By Karen Porter, Editor

EasyHomeOrganizing.com

If you sew, you probably have lots of pieces of sewing fabric stashed around your home--new, used, and leftover scraps of cloth. Here's where to store sewing fabric at home.

Magic Storage Cubes

If you have various pieces of folded fabric in your sewing supplies, you can tote them around and store them in these 3 Magic Storage Cubes from Organize.com.

If you prefer something with a lid to keep dust off of your fabric, consider ordinary plastic storage bins. If you lack space, buy one that rolls under your bed. If you want to be able to see what's in it at a glance, buy one that's translucent versus a solid color. This Underbed Storage Box from Stacks and Stacks measures 6"h x 19 3/4"w x 39 1/2"L. That may be long enough to holds some rolls of fabric but you also can store your fabric folded in piles.

You also can store rolls of fabric or folded stacks of sewing fabric in an ordinary, but beautiful, storage trunk or storage chest right in your living room. It'll be doing double duty as a cocktail table or other piece of your home decor. Yet it'll be handy for when you're ready to work on your sewing projects.  See some trunks and chests here.. If you don't want a trunk or chest in the living room, it'll work into your home decor in almost any part of your home.
