Organizing and storing sports equipment in a handy place
means your home is clear of sports equipment clutter but your family can find
their golf clubs, basketball or gym bags quickly and easily.
♦If you have a golfer in the family, invest in a free-standing
metal golf rack. Golf storage
racks usually have a shelf to accommodate two golf bags vertically (with
clubs in them).
♦Stacks and Stacks sells a golf storage rack system called the "Klub Kloset
- Golf Bag Storage Rack" that is wall mountable. Just don't mount it too
high on the wall or you'll golfer will strain his back lifting a heavy bag of
clubs into it. However, by mounting it a few inches off the floor, you can sweep
and clean your garage floor beneath it easier and more thoroughly.

♦Some golf
storage racks also have three or four side shelves to hold shoes, golf balls and
tees.
♦Put golf balls
in a short, cylindrical planter or container and tees in an old beer bottle or
jelly jar; both will fit on the golf rack shelves.
♦Store the
rack next to the inside door in the garage. This will make it a convenient place
for your golfers to pick up and drop off their clubs.
♦Buy a cylindrical metal hamper on wheels with a fabric lining or line it yourself with a sheet or trash bag.
Throw in basketballs, footballs, boxing gloves, baseball bats, etc. The lining
will keep items like bats and rackets from sliding through the wire slats.
♦If you're
only using the hamper to store balls, take out the lining. It'll be easier to
view what's in it without digging through everything. And dirt from the outdoor
equipment will fall through to the garage floor where you can just sweep under
it now and then (instead of cleaning the lining).
♦Here's a

from Organize-Everything:

♦Hang gym bags (even filled and ready to go) on sturdy wall
storage hooks in the garage (e.g pack of 10 vinyl assorted size/weight bearing
storage hooks from HomeDepot.com are $7).
